Home owner renovations consists of two initiatives, creating a home repair group and attempting to renovate vacant and abandoned housing. These initiatives will pay huge dividends for energy efficiency in the future. South Central and Thomas Park-Avondale are two neighborhoods that were originally built at the turn of the twentieth century and contain much historic architecture to reflect this. Such historic structures lack today’s modern efficiency. Small projects completed on these homes could save residents money in the long run.
Unfortunately many homes are in need of updating, a task that can at times be a bit overwhelming for a single household to manage. While at the same time to see that a home gets a return on the investment the abandoned homes throughout the neighborhoods should be renovated and repopulated. These two initiative seek to accomplish just that, help residents join forces to rebuild their homes while having a plan in place to renovate abandoned homes.
